Terms of use

Last updated: October 14, 2026

These terms cover Passlane DMV Permit Test ("Passlane"), the ChatGPT plugin and the website passlane.ambientapp.ai, made by The Open Apps, Inc. ("we", "us"). By using Passlane you agree to them.

What Passlane is

Passlane is free practice for the driver's permit knowledge tests of California, Texas, Florida, New York and Pennsylvania. The questions are written by Passlane from each state's public driver handbook. Passlane is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any state DMV or agency, or with OpenAI. It does not schedule, give or replace the real test, and a Passlane score doesn't guarantee a result on the real test.

Accuracy

We cite the handbook section and page for every answer and check each citation against the handbook text, but laws and handbooks change. The official handbook and your state's agency are the final word. If you think an answer is wrong, email support@theopenapps.com with the state and the question.

Your use

Use Passlane for your own study. Don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, scrape it, or use it to build a competing question bank.

Our content

The questions, explanations, website and software are ours. The handbooks belong to their states; the road sign drawings are the federal MUTCD designs, in the public domain.

No warranty

Passlane is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for any result on a real driving test.

Changes and ending

We may change or stop Passlane, or these terms. When we change the terms we update the date at the top. You can stop using Passlane at any time and delete your data by saying "Delete my Passlane data".

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
